Kateřina Černá

*1937

Famous Czech graphic artist and painter. She completed studies at AVU (The Academy of Fine Arts) under the guidance of professors Vlatimil Rada and Karel Souček. For over twenty years, she has been teaching at Primary Art School in Modřany. She characterizes herself as a narrator: She tells stories through etching.

Since 1977, she is devoted to graphic art. You can find her work in many illustrated books. She is a member of SČUG Hollar (Hollar, The Association of Czech graphics) since 1991. Her art contents a piece of woman tenderness. Sometimes, it is very close to naive art.

Her art is on public display in Národní Galerie v Praze (National Gallery in Prague), Národní muzeum v Praze (National Museum in Prague), Galerie Středočeského kraje (Gallery of Central Bohemia), Oblastní galerie v Liberci (Regional Gallery in Liberec), Severočeské galerie výtvarného umění v Litoměřicích (North Bohemian Gallery of Art in Litoměřice) and in private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.
